Volkswagen Campervan
ORIGINAL RHD DORMOBILE. TAX & MOT EXEMPT, THOUSANDS OF POUNDS SPENT ON THIS WITH ALL THE RECEIPTS AND INVOICES! A great early Bay, 1969 and right hand drive. Tax and MOT exempt. Sleeps 4. It's had a couple of restorations in that time and most recently we've spent £16,000 in 2022 on a brand new engine (not reconditioned), new front beam, upgraded brakes to servo, plus front discs and a roof repair and re-spray. Runs and handles great. The paint has faded a bit so could do with another quick re-spray to shine it up. The roof has been done so it would be the blue panels only. The underside is wax oiled but with some rust evident on the outriggers. So, it's in great running condition with next jobs on the paint work and some attention to the underside. The market for these vans seems to have softened and so the price reflects this along with the bit of work that might need to be done. I've taken a look across prices, and this offers the best value, particularly when you factor in a brand new engine with about 3000 miles on the clock! And definitely when you factor in my poorly timed recent investments in the van! Inside, the interior has a nice set up with a dorma side lift roof with heaps of standing space. Two bunks up top and a pull out double bed downstairs. It has a modern sink/cooker with electric tap and storage space for crockery. We use a JK trunk fridge which has generous capacity, doesn't allow spillage and also doubles as a seat. We run it mains only as it works well as a cool box during the day and avoids strain on the van electrics. The van is set up simply and works really well. It's the best way to do it in my view. The foam bed cushions are comfortable, and it has bespoke double thick. It has front and rear three-point seat belts. The big sell with this van has to be the brand new engine (well, 3000 miles old engine). The work on brake upgrade and new front beam is pretty valuable too. This isn't a part done project, we use it now and have a great set up.
